HTMN Devlog #3
Devlog #3
Hi everyone, so today I’ll talk a little bit about what I’m working on this week.
So continuing with the visual work this time I’m working on bringing more personality and details to the game, if you played Zombies Ate My Neighbors(ZAMN for short) you’ll recall that all the victims you has to save had their unique animations, personally I think it added a nice touch and the animations at Lucas Arts are top notch at the time they made me feel as I was watching a cartoon with all the personality they had.
In my game you have to rescue the Civilians and well I’ve been making a bunch of helpless monsters to save, but I had only made basic animations as you can see below.
The old and reliable up and down motion never fails.
Well needless to say they needed some personality, in ZAMN most of the victims were oblivious to the impending danger so I took a little cue from them and made most of the victims be absort in their own thing with the odd one who is aware and terrified.
Poor guy in the middle seems to be the only one scared.
Attention to detail helps bring some flavor to your game and make it stand out.
So I’ll keep improving the characters and environments next week I’ll talk a little bit about the combat mechanics and the intended gameplay flow.
Well thank you for reading if you like what you got please follow me on Twitter or join our Newsletter
